Hello and welcome to our missions page on our site. We at the Stanford Nazarene have a burden for mission work but not just international but here in our community first. We believe and share in the mission fields with special offerings and fundraisers but in this day and time we feel a strong burden in our community to get out the message of Jesus, to help those in need and to help feed the hungry. We are planning again this year to set up a fundraising food booth during the cities car shows, so stop by and help us help those around us who are suffering and in need. If you would like to donate to our mission just send it to us in the mail or designate it to missions in a envelope in the offering. We have helped out several people recently who have been burned out of their homes, people struggling with the current economic situation, supplying some poor families and elderly with a little food to eat and we also setup the church as an emergency shelter during the winter ice storm in our area housing and feeding several families for over a week. We are being blessed by God in this area of our church and we hope we can be a blessing to anyone in need.
On every Tuesday our ladies group has filled in a gap of the senior citizens program in Stanford by cooking and delivering free meals to those in the program. We have set up a pantry and have given out several food boxes with enough food to feed a family for a few days. We have received a grant and have started up a food voucher program with a local grocer. It works like the WIC system as families receive certain perishables(potatoes, eggs, meats...etc.) that we are unable to store at the church. We have opened a account with the local Goodwill to be able to give out vouchers for clothes to those in need. We try in every way to help those who are in need.
When the poor and needy seek water, and there is none, and their tongue faileth for thirst, I the LORD will hear them, I the God of Israel will not forsake them. 20That they may see, and know, and consider, and understand together, that the hand of the LORD hath done this, and the Holy One of Israel hath created it. Isaiah 41:17 & 20
If you are in need or know of someone in need please stop by the church and fill out a simple application for assistance. God bless us all!
